Run gazelle run

A long forgotten old jungle saying, posted on facebook by my very good friend Sachin R from XL -
"Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must move faster than the fastest lion or it will not survive. Every morning a lion wakes up and it knows it must move faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter if you are the lion or the gazelle, when the sun comes up, you better be running." - Roger Bannister "
and his even better description of it. Can't but admire the wisdom in it.

"It captures the essence of a lot of eastern philosophy 1) It is ur duty to run so run. 2) No matter how big, fast or strong u r, u will still have to run (ie even if u win today's rat race , u r still a rat); unless and untill u achieve Nirvana and hence get freedom from the cycle of rat races 3) No matter how much u enjoy running and not matter how free or powerful u feel while running, its all an illusion" - Sachin R

chaos and stability

Came across a very interesting line on cricinfo.

If you know only chaos, stability soon acquires its own myth.

biggest critic

Sometimes realization springs up from nowhere, the so called "idea" moment. One such realization that has hit my mind many times over,

"There cannot be a bigger critic than one's conscience"

Obsessive curiosity

I think I have come to the realization that I have an obsessive desire to know everything that is to be known in the world. Call it curiosity, call it hunger for knowledge or plain wasteful eagerness. A company whose mission is to organize all the information in the world is google. Somewhere in between, being associated with google could serve this ulterior purpose.

Imagination

I don't remember who has said it,maybe Einstien, or if I made it up on my own, but it struck me again today that "One is limited only by his/her Imagination!".
